Recipients of Life Time Achievement Awards

COVENTRY (UK): Midland Psychiatric Research Group for the first time at its annual meeting held from June 8-10^th 2006 recognized the meritorious services rendered by some senior most psychiatrists of Asian origin and honoured them with Life Time Achievement Awards at the Conference Banquet on June 9^th 2006.

Those who were honoured with commemorative shields included  Dr. Ratnam from Sri Lanka, Dr.Tavasothy, Dr. Michael Radford, Dr. Farrukh Hashmi from Pakistan and Dr. M. Quasim also from Pakistan.  Dr. Farrukh Hashmi it was stated was the first Asian psychiatrist in this area. The names of the recipients were announced by Prof. R.N. Mohan and they were presented shields. This gesture on the part of the organizers was very much appreciated by all those present with clapping which went on for quite a few minutes.
