Shalamar Medical & Dental College as well as University of Lahore have shown the way to other conference organizers that if there is a will and determination, successful conferences can be organized in institutions rather than the Five Star Hotels as is the case with many other institutions and professional specialty organizations and most of which eventually also turn out to be mere social get-togethers with very little scientific contents. Prof. Zahid Bashir Principal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College was the patron of the conference, Prof. Sarah Khalid Chairperson of the organizing committee while others who made commendable contributions to the scientific deliberations included Prof. Bilal Bin Younis and Prof. M. A. Wajid besides other members of the different committees. He also presented the mementoes to some of the guest speakers. Brig. Anis Ahmed is the current Chief Executive of Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences.

Wajid said that it was the political and leadership decisions by SMDC to start holding this international conference in 2017 and with every passing year the number of participants, invited speakers and workshops has increased and this has emerged as an important academic event in Pakistan. Prof. Sarah Khalid Chairperson of the Organizing Committee gave an excellent wrap up of the three days conference deliberations in the concluding session and thanked their team leader and Mentor Prof. Zahid Bashir, members of the organizing committee including Mr. Zaheer Khan for their devotion and dedication which played a vital role in the success of this academic event.
